Walgreens Mock Shopping Trip

Walgreens doesn't have as many good deals this week as CVS, but I thought I should go ahead and give you a mock shopping trip for it as well. Keep in mind that Walgreens is more confusing to shop at than CVS. At Walgreens you MUST have an equal number of manufacturer's coupons to items that you are buying (Walgreens and in ad coupons do not count as coupons but Register Rewards do!). Because of this, you'll notice that I will have to add inexpensive filler items to different transactions so I will be allowed to use all the coupons that I want to. Don't get nervous about Walgreens. Once you get in and try shopping there for yourself, you'll see that it is well worth it to shop there!!

Transaction #1:
EOS Ultra Moisturizing Shaving Cream $2.99
Final Cost for Transaction #1: $2.99 (plus tax) and receive a $2.99 Register Reward

Transaction #2:
Schick Hydro 3 or 5 Blade Razor System $7.99
-use coupon for $5.00 off Schick Razor (found in 5/9 SmartSource insert)
Total for Razor: $2.99, and receive a $5.00 Register Reward

1 bag of Walgreens Candy $0.39 (this is a filler item)

Use $2.99 Register Reward from Transaction #1.
Final Cost for Transaction #2: $0.39 (plus tax) and receive a $5.00 Register Reward

Transaction #3:
2 Pantene Shampoo/Conditioner $7.00
-use coupon for $1.00 off any two Pantene Shampoos or Conditioners (found in 5/2 Proctor and Gamble insert)
Total for Pantene products: $6.00 and receive a $2.00 Register Reward

Use $5.00 Register Reward from Transaction #2.
Final Cost for Transaction #3: $1.00 (plus tax) and receive a $2.00 Register Reward.

After this trip, you will have bought:
1 EOS Shave Cream
1 Schick Razor
1 bag of candy
2 Pantene Hair Products

You will have spent $4.38 (plus tax), and you'll still have a $2.00 Register Reward left for your next shopping trip.

I know that Walgreens can seem very confusing if you are just starting out, but as you can see, you REALLY can save a lot of money once you learn the ropes!!

Again, let me know if this was helpful for you. I know when I first started trying to shop at CVS and Walgreens I wished that I had someone walk me through exactly how to do it, so I'm hoping that this will help some of you get started!! Good luck and let me know if your trips are successful, or let me know of any other deals that you think would make this better. I wanted to focus on deals that used coupons from the last two weeks so those of you who are just starting out would be able to get started at Walgreens!!

Test areas have some of this weeks RR as opportunities to earn pts. instead.

    Please post.

NOTE: This petition is not against the new points/card program at Walgreens, but supports the programs being run together with NO alterations to “Register Rewards.” Any change to the “Register Rewards” program- in amount or items offered-is not supported by the below signed.

NB: New program, no chance to roll.
