Some Great New Coupons Available

There are several great new coupons available on coupons.com! I suggest that you head over there to check out all of the new coupons.

The coupons that I am most excited about are:

$2.00 off Hidden Vally Farm House Originals
(I believe these are priced around $2.50 at Wal-Mart)

$0.75 off any Muir Glen Product
(Small cans of Tomato Paste are priced around $1.00, so around $0.25 after coupon)

$0.75 off General Mills Cheerios (select varieties)
(Albertsons has these priced at 3 for $5.00 quite regularly, so only $0.92 after coupon. I'd encourage you to print this out and HOLD for a sale!)

$0.50 off ONE box of Nature Valley Granola Bars

(Usually you'll find these coupons for $0.50 off TWO. At Albertsons this will be doubled, so $1.00 off ONE box. If they have these on sale again, we should be able to get a GREAT deal!)

Buy one Get one FREE Edge Shave Gel
(Walgreens and CVS will often run special promotions on shave gels/razors.)

$3.00 off TWO Right Guard Total Defense 5
(This coupon usually gets us FREE or VERY INEXPENSIVE deodorant when combined with the right sale!)

$1.00 off Reach Floss
(FREE FLOSS!! Wal-Mart and Target have Reach Floss priced at $0.97 all the time. CVS and Walgreens often put these on sale for $0.99!)

These are the coupons that I am most excited about seeing. Make sure to check out the new coupons on Coupons.com and leave a comment if you see any GREAT coupons that I might have overlooked!

Wal-Mart Trip (September 30)

I ran to Wal-Mart today because I wanted to see how easy it was to price match all of the items from the Lowe's ad...I have price matched many times before, but not in the last couple of months. I wanted to make sure that it was as easy as I remembered it being so that I could report back to all of you. I bought everything pictured below and spent...

$9.25. I had absolutely ZERO problems price matching the items. I made sure to go during a time when I knew it wouldn't be too busy. When I got to the checkout, I told the cashier that I would be price matching. I made sure to give her all the items that I would be price matching together (being organized makes everything go so much more smoothly). I told her the price it was at Lowe's and made sure to tell her I had the Lowe's ad if she wanted to verifty the prices. I think that price matching might have added 1 or 2 minutes onto the check out process. It went really smoothly, and the cashier was very friendly about it.

I bought:

7 Ultra Downy Balls $1.37
-used 7 coupons for $1.50 off any Ultra Downy product (expired today)
Final Price: Free (plus $0.91 overage)

15 cans of Great Value Vegetables $0.64
-price matched Lowe's ad to get each can down to $0.39
Final Price: $5.85

6 cans of Great Value Cream of Mushroom Soup (I forgot to check Wal-Mart's price)
-price matched Lowe's ad to get them down to 3 for $1.00
Final Price: $2.00

2 small bags of Planter's Honey Roasted Peanuts $0.48 (found at checkout)
-used 2 coupons for $1.00 off any Planters product
Final Price: FREE (plus $1.04 overage)

2 bags of Earthbound Farm Organic Carrots $0.88
-used 2 coupons for $0.75 off Earthbound Farm product
Final Price: $0.26

3 Green Bell Peppers $0.64 each
-price matched Lowe's ad to get them down to 3 for $1.00
Final Price: $1.00

Grapes $0.89/lb.
Final Price: $2.09

Not a GREAT trip to Wal-Mart, but my stockpile of canned vegetables has been running low for a couple of weeks. $0.39 isn't the best price, but it sure beats paying full price!! Also, it is usually pretty difficult to find really great deals on produce, so I was really happy with the prices that I was able to find!

If you've never price matched at Wal-Mart, I just want to reassure you that it really is super easy. Also wanted to say that I really don't know anything at all about Lowe's Grocery Store. I have never been inside it...only because it's across town from where I live and usually shop. If you shop at Lowe's leave a comment letting us know of any deals that we are missing out on...I might need to make a trip over there.

Wal-Mart--GREAT Deals on Produce

Wal-Mart has a couple of great deals on produce right now. If you are planning a trip to Wal-Mart, then I'd definitely add these to your list!!

Seedless Grapes $0.89/lb
(I think this is the lowest price I've seen on grapes all year!)

Earthbound Farm Organic Carrots 1 lb. bag $0.88
-use coupon for $0.75 off any Earthbound Farm product (found here...click on Win a Free CookBook, play a short little game and then you'll be able to print the coupon.)
Final Price: $0.13 for 1 lb. of Organic Carrots...A GREAT deal!!

While you are at Wal-Mart, you might want to pick up some green bell peppers and price match them with Lowe's ad 3 for $1.00!!

Last of the Month

Can you believe that it is already the last day of September? This month has just flown by!! Since it's the end of the month, you should go check out the different online coupon sites to see if there are any coupons that you are interested in. Remember these sites reset/replace coupons at the beginning of each month. Coupons that are available today, might not be available tomorrow. Or even better...coupons might reset tomorrow so you'll be able to print them AGAIN!

Coupon for $1.00 off Tic Tacs

There's a GREAT coupon available for $1.00 off any single pack of Tic Tacs. These are normally priced around $1.00 at most stores, so possibly free or just a few cents after coupon! My boys love the orange Tic Tacs!

If you are interested in this coupon, go here to print it off. You'll need to print it off now if you think you'll use it. This coupon will only be available today, and there are a limited amount of coupons available to print!

Thanks Money Saving Mom!

Several ShoppingTrips

I realized that I had several pictures from some of my most recent shopping trips that I forgot to post about, so I am going to put them all together in this one post. These are from several different stores. I did these trips earlier in the week. I bought everything pictured below, and spent...

$17.50, and saved $145.40. (Seriously, I can't believe that before coupons/sale promotions that the items I purchased would cost over $150...no wonder our grocery budget was going through the roof before I started seriously using coupons!) After these trips, I still have $2.00 in Register Rewards (from Walgreens), $5.00 in Extra Care Bucks (from CVS), $10.00 in Catalina Coupons from HEB, and $9.00 in Catalina Coupons (each good for $1.50 off any HEB Brand item)...$26.00 in "store cash" that I can use on my next trip to the stores.

Items I purchased include:

5 Ziploc Reusable Containers
5 Chex Mix
12 Mac and Cheese Cheddar Explosion
12 Gain Dish Soap
2 Dawn Hand Renewal Dish Soap
1 Tuna Fish
3 Pantene Beautiful Lengths Shampoo
3 Pantene Beautiful Lengths Conditioner
2 Ragu Pasta Sauce
2 Butterball Chicken Broth
1 Hunt's Tomato Sauce
1 Protein Bar
16 Tide Detergent (Travel Size)
20 Bisquick packets
20 Yoplait Yogurt Cups
4 Smart Balance Milk

Lowe's Ad (September 29 - October 5)

There are several good deals at Lowe's Grocery Store this week. I have never shopped at Lowe's because it is across town, but there have been numerous times when I have taken Lowe's ad into Wal-Mart and price matched several of their deals. Whether you shop at Lowe's or are interested in price matching, you should be able to find some GREAT deals...with NO coupons!!

The best deals that I see are for Lowe's store brand items. At Wal-Mart you may price match a store brand from another store with Wal-Mart's own store brand (Great Value).

Shur Saving Canned Vegetables (14.5 - 15.25 oz) $0.39
-including green beans, corn, sweet peas, sliced carrots, and mixed veggies

Shur Saving Condensed Soup (10.5 -10.75 oz) 3 for $1.00
-the pictured items are Chicken Noodle and Cream of Mushroom soup
(Cream of Mushroom soup for $0.33 is a GREAT deal)

Shur Saving Tomatoes (Diced or Whole) (28 oz) $0.99

Shur Saving Mac and Cheese (7.25 oz) 4 for $1.00
($0.25 for a box of Mac and Cheese is a GREAT deal)

Shur Saving Long Grain Enriched Rice (4 lb. bag) $0.99

ShurFine Orange Juice (gallon) $1.99

Shur Saving American Singles $0.99

Buttermilk or Homestyle Shurfine Biscuits (10 ct. can) $0.39

Golden Delicious, Gala, or Granny Smith Apples $0.99/lb.

Bosc or Bartlett Pears $0.99/lb.

Green Bell Peppers 3 for $1.00

Fresh Carrots (1 lb. bag) $0.79

White or Yellow Onions (3 lb. bag) 2 for $3.00

There are many other good deals this week, so I would encourage you to look through the ad and see if you can find any other deals that might work for your family and/or budget. If you decide to price match at Wal-Mart, you will need to take the Lowe's ad with you to the store. Be sure to tell the cashier that you will be price matching some items BEFORE he/she starts scanning your items.

A couple of days ago I wrote a post about a bad couponing experience that I had at one of the stores here. I wrote the post, not to speak negatively about any specific store...If you read the post, you'll notice that I never mentioned what store/chain I shopped at...but to try to give you a heads up that when you are shopping with coupons there will be occasions when you run into problems.

Someone made a comment on the post asking if it was really worth losing my cool and my witness over dish soap. I want to start out by saying that when I was checking out, I did not lose my temper with the cashier and manager(?) that came over to figure the coupons out. I never raised my voice or tried to act ugly to them. When they told me things that I KNEW went against the coupon policy that I had, I asked when the policy had changed and why the changes were happening. Some people might say that I shouldn't have even done that, but being an informed coupon shopper means that you are able to speak up for yourself and be educated about your shopping trip.

I wanted to post about that trip so that other coupon shoppers would know that these things happen to all of us...and it's okay to speak up when things are not going right. Of course, this should always be done in a kind manner.

I'm sorry if that previous post offended any of you, or came across like I was being rude/mean to employees...something I do NOT advocate. I just wanted to share an experience that happened to me...and has probably happened to some of you as well.

Walgreens--Pantene Restore Beautiful Lengths Shampoo/Conditioner

Walgreens is running a special Register Reward promotion this week. Buy 2 Pantene or Head and Shoulders Products for $8.00 and receive a $2.00 Register Reward. At first this does not seem like a very good deal, but I ran to Walgreens today and found that this deal is actually a lot better than it might seem at first.

Pantene Restore Beautiful Lengths is on sale for $4.00 PLUS when you buy 2 you'll get your second one for 50% off!

Buy 2 Pantene Restore Beautiful Lengths Shampoo/Conditioner $4.00 for the first one and $2.00 for the 2nd one--Total $6.00
-use 2 coupons for $2.00 off Pantene Restore Products (found in 8/29 Proctor and Gamble insert) (These expire on September 30th, so you only have a couple of days to do this deal.)
Final Price: $2.00 AND receive a $2.00 Register Reward

It seems like these are priced around $5.00 or $6.00 at most stores, so this is really a GREAT deal!

Monday, September 27, 2010

CVS--A Couple of GREAT Deals

I just wanted to point out a couple of deals at CVS this week that are great if you have the right coupons...and even better if you have any Extra Care Bucks from previous trips.

Dawn Hand Renewal with Olay $0.96
-use coupon for $1.00 off Dawn Hand Renewal (found in Home Made Simple Coupon Book)
Final Price: FREE

Spend $10.00 on select products and get $5.00 Extra Care Buck

Pantene Restoratives Shampoo/Conditioner $5.00
-use coupon for $2.00 off Pantene Restoratives (found in 8/29 Proctor and Gamble insert)
Olay Cleanser $5.00
-use coupon for $2.00 off Olay Cleanser (found in 9/26 Proctor and Gamble insert)
Final Price: $6.00 PLUS receive a $5.00 Extra Care Buck

Remember if you already have Extra Care Bucks you can reduce your out of pocket spending even more. If you are just starting out at CVS then this would be a great deal to get started on!

Remember, in order to get the most out of drug stores (CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid) you need to focus on rolling your Extra Care Bucks, Register Rewards, UPs Rewards from one deal to the next. If you do it correctly, you'll be paying for different transactions each week using those rewards and only pennies out of your own pocket!!

Target--Coupon Stack

Jaime made a comment on one of the previous posts that I thought most of you would be interested in hearing about. Target.com has released several new TARGET coupons for different cleaning supplies. In yesterday's newspaper there were also several different manufacturer's coupons that should pair up with these Target coupons. (Remember, at Target you can use ONE Target coupon AND ONE manufacturer's coupon on ONE product!)

I haven't had a chance to look real closely at any of these coupons, but go through your coupons and see what you can come up with. In my opinion Target is overdue for a big cleaning supply sale, so hopefully we'll see something soon. When shopping at Target, don't forget to look at the endcaps...that is where you'll find most of the products that have been marked down.

Thanks Jaime for the heads up!!

HEB--Kraft Macaroni Cheddar Explosion

If your family/kids like Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, then you might want to head over to HEB.

Kraft Macaroni and Cheese Cheddar Explosion $0.92 (normally priced at $1.16...I think)
-use coupon for $1.00 off 2 (this is an HEB manufacturer's coupon...found right on the shelf next to the Mac and Cheese)
Final Price: 2 for $0.84 (or $0.42 each)

You will be able to find store brand Mac and Cheese for around this price, but if you like Kraft then this is about the cheapest that you'll find it. I'm not sure if the Cheddar Explosion tastes any different than normal Mac and Cheese, but this might be the time to try it.

I bought 12 boxes today...used 6 of the coupons for $1.00 off 2, and used 1 $5.00 catalina coupon (from buying 10 Box Tops items), and only spent $0.04...a GREAT stock up price if your family likes Mac and Cheese!!
