Mega Swagbucks Friday!!

Search & Win

Just wanted to remind you that it's Friday, and that means that for those of you who have signed up for Swagbucks that you'll have additional chances to win HIGH VALUE Swagbucks during your searches!! Go ahead and search for the sites you normally go to, and earn bucks to trade in for prizes while you are at it!! Remember it only takes 450 Swagbucks to trade in for a $5.00 Amazon gift card. I've been saving my Amazon gift cards, and I was just searching around Amazon a couple of days ago, and found out that you can actually order gift cards from different stores (Target, Kohls, AMC Movies, Subway, etc.) Once you earn enough Swagbucks you can trade in for different gifts or gift cards...I've been trading in for Amazon gift cards and will be using them to help our Christmas budget!!

So for those of you who are already a part of Swagbucks start searching!! Let me know if you win any big amounts today!! And for those of you who have not joined Swagbucks yet, it is completely free and so easy!! Just sign up for Swagbucks (it's a search engine...like google, yahoo, ask.com, etc). You have a chance to win Swagbucks for every search you do. You don't have to go search for specific things. The easiest way to use it, is to load the Swagbucks toolbar on your homepage. Instead of typing in a web address that you want to go to, just type it into the Swagbucks search box...you'll still go right where you would be going anyway...but you will be given chances to win Swagbucks!! I joined at the end of December, and have won over $100 in Amazon gift cards...LOVE IT!!

If you are interested in signing up, just click on the banner below to get started. Like I said it is completely FREE and you'll receive 30 Swagbucks just for signing up!!

I know this might sound confusing, so if you have any questions about Swagbucks or how to get started leave a comment below and I'll do my best to answer them!

What's In Your Freezer?

As you saw in the previous post, we do not have an upright freezer where everything is placed neatly and you can easily see what you have. That's definitely on my wish list, but I think I'll have to wait a few years for that! :) We have a chest freezer, and everything is stacked on top of each other. This makes for some frustration when I'm trying to find what items I have in the freezer.

Several weeks ago, I got so frustrated that I decided to clean out the freezer. I pulled everything out and tried to place like items next to like items when I put them back. (ie. all vegetables together, all meats together, all processed foods together) I also made a list of everything that was in the freezer.

I placed this list on our refrigerator, and now any time I take something out of the freezer I simply cross it off the list. Anytime I go shopping and purchase frozen food items I add them to the list. I can now tell at a glance what we have, and what we are running low on.

I don't know why I didn't think to do this sooner...might be because I have a hundred other things running through my mind on any given day. :) I thought that some of you might benefit from this as well. Besides keeping me organized, this also really helps when I am planning meals...anything that makes my life easier is definitely a plus!

Freezer = Full

My freezers are officially full. Now I need to either stop buying frozen foods or buy a bigger freezer. :)

From the pictures above it might look like I only feed my kids unhealthy, processed foods. I buy items when they are at their rock bottom prices, and when I find them at the lowest price I buy in multiples, so I am never stuck paying full price again. This frees up extra money in our grocery budget to buy extra fresh fruits, veggies, lean meats, etc.

I'm still wanting to buy some of the chicken breasts that are on sale at Albertsons this week, but I seriously don't think I have room for them. Maybe over the next several days we'll eat enough from the freezer to clear out a small space for some chicken.

Another Deal at HEB

While I was at HEB pricing the Ball Park franks, I also ran over to the frozen foods to price the Tyson Chicken products that are buy one get the second one free. Anytizers, Chicken Nuggets, Chicken Strips, Chicken Patties, Chicken Fries were all included in this sale. They were all priced at $2.50...so with the in store coupon, only $1.25 per box. I don't know of any manufacturer's coupons that you could also use, but I still think this is a pretty great deal.

I was standing in the store debating whether or not to stock up on some boxes, and I realized that if we go to any fast food restaurant each Kid's Meal is typically $3.00 or $4.00. When I realized that I could buy 3 boxes for the price of one Kid's Meal I threw several of them into my shopping cart.

Update on HEB Ball Park Meal Deal

I ran to HEB tonight to price the Ball Park franks that are a part of this week's Meal Deal. Mary posted that she found them for $2.78 at her HEB, and they were the same price at our local HEB. That means that if you have two of the coupons for $2.00 off any Ball Park product you will spend $1.56 on two packages of hot dogs, one bag of chips, dip, relish, chili, and a 2 liter drink...it works out to about $0.23 per item! I would say that this is a definite STOCK UP price!

You will only be able to print 2 of the $2.00 coupons, but at our HEB almost all of the Ball Park Jumbo franks had coupons for $1.00 off one package stuck right on them. If you don't have access to a computer, or you just want to stock up on extra hot dogs...use 2 of the $1.00 peelie coupons and you'll pay $3.56 for all seven items...it works out to about $0.51 an item. Still a GREAT price!

I love having hot dogs in our freezer...great for grilling in the summer, but I also love chili dogs on cool fall evenings. Just a few more weeks until fall!! I'd definitely stock up on hot dogs while they are at this price!!

NOTE...At the HEB in San Angelo, these were in a large display right when you walk in the door by the produce.

AWESOME Coupon for HEB Meal Deal

I just found an AWESOME coupon that goes great with this week's Meal Deal at HEB.

BUY:
2 Ball Park Beef, Cheese, or White Turkey Franks
GET FREE:
Hormel No Beans Chili
HEB Dip
HEB Potato Chips
HEB Soft Drink (2 liter)
Hill Country Fare Relish

There's a new coupon available on Facebook for $2.00 off ONE Ball Park product. This is the highest value coupon I have ever seen for Ball Park products, and the great thing about this coupon is that you can print it off TWICE. You'll need to go here and fill out your email address. Within seconds you should receive an email with a link to your coupon.

I know people have had issues with certain Internet coupons not scanning and/or being accepted at HEB. The supervisor at HEB assured me that all legitimate internet coupons (with bar codes, expiration dates, mailing info) will be accepted. I don't know if this coupon is one of the ones that will cause problems, but if it does explain to your cashier that it should be accepted. If the cashier refuses, ask to speak to the manager.

Do any of you know how much the BallPark Franks are at HEB? I really think that with these coupons, this should make for an AWESOME deal!!

Albertsons Ad/Coupon Match Up (August 25 - 31)

Remember that your stock up price might be different than mine, but this is just to give you a comparison...or for those of you who are just starting out, it will give you a heads up to the best deals at Albertsons this week.

Don't Throw Out Your Lowe's Ad

In this week's Lowe's ad milk is priced at $1.88 a gallon...hold onto your ad and price match at Wal-Mart or Target! (Or if you shop at Lowe's be sure to pick up your milk there!)

Other items you might want to price match:

Cantaloupes $0.99 each

Seedless Grapes $0.99/lb.

Honeydew Melons $0.39/lb.

Green Pears $0.89/lb.

Red or Black Plums $0.99/lb.

Snack Size Valencia Oranges 6 for $1.00

You might find these same prices at Wal-Mart this week, but the last time I was at Wal-Mart all of their produce prices were quite a bit higher! This is definitely a week to price match your produce with the Lowe's ad, so don't accidentally throw it out. :) Remember if you are price matching, take your ad with you to the store and tell the cashier BEFORE she starts scanning your merchandise that you want to price match your items.

Target--Clearance Items

I ran to Target this morning to pick up a few things, and I wanted to let you know about some GREAT clearance items that I noticed.

Towards the back of the store (near the toys) there is a large shelf along the back wall with all sorts of summer lawn care items for sale...weed killer, ant/roach killer, water hoses, flower pots, etc. I didn't look too closely at everything, but did notice that there was a pretty large supply of merchandise. The signs said 30% off, but I did notice several items were marked 50% off...a GREAT deal if you need any of those things.

I also noticed several frozen food items that were clearanced...you'll kind of have to sort through things and look for products with stickers on them since they aren't clearly labeled. The things I noticed:

El Monterey Taquitos
TGIFridays Quesadillas
TGIFridays Mozzarella Sticks
Lean Pockets (only select varieties)
Green Giant Just for One Vegetables
Green Giant Frozen Veggies (I only noticed the corn clearance priced, but there might be other veggies included)
Egg Rolls (not sure of the brand)
Lactaid Milk

I'm sure there were more, but those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. Most of the items I saw were 50% off.

I can't find any coupons to go along with these deals, but at 50% off they are still pretty great deals. Let me know if you see any other GREAT clearance finds at Target!

Also, please keep in mind that I found these at Target in San Angelo, TX. Not all stores place items on clearance at the same time, so you might not find these at other stores.
I know it's been several days since I've posted any new deals...been super busy with other things...getting the kids ready for school, house back in order after summer break, and a lot of things to do for Kids Church. Needless to say, feel like I haven't had much of a chance to sit down at the computer lately. I'll be posting the Albertsons and HEB ad match ups later this afternoon/night. I have to run and pick up my oldest boys at school in a few minutes. Then it's homework, supper, church, etc...I'll do my best to have new posts up later tonight. Also, will try to carve out some time tomorrow to look for other deals. Hope all of your kids are enjoying being back in school!!
