Even though we are in the middle of summer, Christmas is just around the corner. If you have small children at home, or nieces/nephews/grandkids to buy for, now would be a GREAT time to stock up!! These would also make great birthday presents, or "Just Because" treats.

Mega Swagbucks Friday!!
Just wanted to remind you that it's Friday, and that means that for those of you who have signed up for Swagbucks that you'll have additional chances to win HIGH VALUE Swagbucks during your searches!! Go ahead and search for the sites you normally go to, and earn bucks to trade in for prizes while you are at it!! Remember it only takes 450 Swagbucks to trade in for a $5.00 Amazon gift card. I've been saving my Amazon gift cards, and I was just searching around Amazon a couple of days ago, and found out that you can actually order gift cards from different stores (Target, Kohls, AMC Movies, Subway, etc.) Once you earn enough Swagbucks you can trade in for different gifts or gift cards...I've been trading in for Amazon gift cards and will be using them to help our Christmas budget!!
So for those of you who are already a part of Swagbucks start searching!! Let me know if you win any big amounts today!! And for those of you who have not joined Swagbucks yet, it is completely free and so easy!! Just sign up for Swagbucks (it's a search engine...like google, yahoo, ask.com, etc). You have a chance to win Swagbucks for every search you do. You don't have to go search for specific things. The easiest way to use it, is to load the Swagbucks toolbar on your homepage. Instead of typing in a web address that you want to go to, just type it into the Swagbucks search box...you'll still go right where you would be going anyway...but you will be given chances to win Swagbucks!! I joined at the end of December, and have won over $100 in Amazon gift cards...LOVE IT!!
If you are interested in signing up, just click on the banner below to get started. Like I said it is completely FREE and you'll receive 30 Swagbucks just for signing up!!

Lowe's--GREAT Deals on Produce
Let me start out by saying that I have never gone grocery shopping at Lowe's, but I do take their ad into Wal-Mart to price match on a regular basis. A lot of times they have GREAT prices on milk and produce. Some of you might shop regularly at Lowe's, or will make a trip to Lowe's to check out their deals, but for those of you who don't want to make a trip there...don't feel like you have to miss out on their deals...just take the ad into Wal-Mart and you'll be able to price match.
These are the best deals I see at Lowe's this week:
Pilgrim's Pride Grade "A" Whole Fryers $0.59/lb.
Cantaloupe $0.79
Peaches, Nectarines, Red or Black Plums $0.69/lb.
Red, Golden Delicious, or Granny Smith Apples $0.89/lb.
Green Pears $0.99/lb.
Kiwi 6 for $1.00
Navel Oranges 2 lbs. for $3.00
Red Ripe Tomatoes $0.99/lb.
Whole Carrots $0.69/lb.
Fresh Broccoli $0.89/lb.
Sweet Yellow Onions $0.99/lb.
ShurFine is Lowe's Generic Brand of foods...like Great Value is at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart will generally let you price match another store brand product for their Great Value Brand product.
ShurFine Macaroni and Cheese 4 for $1.00
ShurFine Toaster Tarts (8 count) $1.00
ShurFine Canned Vegetables $0.39
There are a lot of deals on ShurFine products. I am not familiar with the regular price of Wal-Mart's Great Value brand, so you might want to take the Lowe's ad into Wal-Mart and check prices for yourself.
If you decide to price match at Wal-Mart, make sure to tell your cashier BEFORE he/she starts scanning your items. Have the ad handy becaue he/she may ask to look at it to verify the prices. Price matching should only ad a couple of minutes onto the length of time it takes you to check out, but will generally save you several dollars depending on what you are purchasing!

I'm about to start working on the Albertsons and HEB Ad Match Ups for this week. My husband is still not feeling too great, so I might not be posting as many deals today as I normallly like to. Right now he is laying on our bed with all three boys watching Finding Nemo...we'll see how long it lasts. :) The boys think it's vacation with their Dad being home for the day. Hopefully he'll be able to fall asleep, they'll quietly watch the movie, and I'll be able to get the match ups done this morning...but you never know.
I glimpsed through the ads and just wanted you to know that the Kellogg's/Keebler catalina deal is STILL going on at Albertsons this week!! If you still have any coupons left, you'll be able to continue to stock up on cereals and snacks!! I'll be posting a more detailed match up in a little while, but wanted to give you a heads up on that deal!!

August Grocery Budget
Since it's the beginning of August, I wanted to encourage all of you to sit down and make a grocery budget for the month. Some of you may already do this, but I am sure that a lot of people have no set grocery budget at all. How can you know if you are truly saving money, if you have no set budget that you've started from?
For the last several months we've had a set grocery budget of $60.00 a week for my family of five...this includes all food, toiletries, paper products, medicines. I really feel like I've been able to build a good stockpile of basic items, so I am challenging myself to try to spend $40.00 a week for this month. I've still budgeted $60.00 just in case I can't make it, but each week I'm going to take out only $40.00 and see if I can make it last the whole week. This is kind of tricky because with the stockpile of food that I've been able to build up, I'm sure that I could go several weeks only buying perishable items...but then by the end of the month my pantry would be bare and I'd be back to buying items at full price. My goal is to cut my weekly grocery budget down, but still manage to stockpile basic foods in my pantry. I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it, but thought that if I actually wrote that I'm going to be trying it that it will keep me more accountable. At the end of the week I'll let you know how I did for the first week of August.
I encourage you to set some goals for yourself. If you are just starting out, try to save $5.00 or $10.00 a week...might not seem like a lot, but it's a good place to start!!
Hope all of you are starting to see your spending go down and your savings go up!! Let me know how you guys are doing!! Would love some feedback from you.

Even More Deals at Albertsons
I have to say that Albertsons seems to be pulling out all the stops this week!! I tend to shop at Albertsons about once every two weeks, depending on the sale prices. I'm embarrassed to admit that I've been to Albertsons three times during this sale cycle...and each time I've done at least two different transactions. The sales this week have just been so GREAT, and I keep finding coupons that make the deal even better.
I ran back to Albertsons today to take advantage of the new Snackpicks coupons that were just released, and I also wanted to stock up on some more cereal. While I was at Albertsons I found a new coupon flyer that Albertsons has just released. (This can be found at the front of the store by the ads and also throughout the store.) At the top it says "Back to School" and has over $25.00 of manufacturer's coupons on it. A lot of these coupons should be pretty good when combined with a sale, but one in particular jumped out at me...$2.00 off a gallon of milk when you buy 5 boxes of Kellogg's cereal. If you combine this coupon with the Kellogg's/Keebler catalina promotion that is going on right now, you should get an AWESOME deal on cereal AND milk. The Good Day milk at Albertsons is priced at $2.56, so only $0.56 after coupon...a GREAT deal!! To read more about the Kellogg's/Keebler catalina deal, go here.
Remember tomorrow is the last day that you'll be able to take advantage of this catalina deal. If you have not taken advantage of this deal, then I strongly encourage you to!! It is an AWESOME time to stock up on cereals and snacks for your family, and if you think that your family won't eat the items on sale, go ahead and buy them and donate them!! You'll be amazed at how much you can bless another family without busting your own budget!!
