I ran to Sonic after picking my boys up from school...have to celebrate Friday with Happy Hour drinks. :) When the car hop brought our slushes out to the van, she handed me a flyer that I thought some of you might be interested in...

Reuseable Shopping Bags

Just wanted to know if you guys use reuseable shopping bags. It took me a while to get in on this, but now I rarely leave home without my bags. Would you believe that I got all of these bags for FREE? (These aren't even all of them...I have several that are full of Kids Church materials that I didn't want to empty out. :) The majority of them came from Albertsons...check the bottom of your receipts because a lot of times you'll have an opportunity to take a short survey to receive a FREE bag. The other bags I received by signing up for FREE bags online.

I LOVE FREE...but what's better than FREE? I LOVE making money off of things that I get for FREE! :) Don't forget that Albertsons and Target will take $0.05 off your bill for each reuseable bag you use. Some cashiers will automatically do this for you, but sometimes you'll need to remind them. $0.05 might not seem like a lot...but it adds up!

Vera Bradley--Select Patterns 60% Off!

I don't normally post deals like this, but I came across this on another coupon site and with Christmas right around the corner I thought some of you might want to take advantage of this deal. Vera Bradley has certain patterns/products on sale for 60% off right now. I know that there are a LOT of people who love Vera Bradley products, but they can get pretty pricey. If you are someone who loves Vera Bradley, or you have someone on your Christmas list who does you might be able to find some great deals with this sale.

It says that the sale will end on October 31st, but I wouldn't be surprised if quantities are limited...If you are interested I'd go ahead and head over here to see if there's anything you like. Chili's--Kids Eat Free on Halloween

Chili's is running an awesome promotion on Sunday, October 31st. From 3:00 p.m. to close kids eat free when you buy an adult entree.

Fine print on this deal:

For those of you who live in San Angelo, I called our local store and the manager I talked to said that even if you don't have a coupon that they will still honor the promotion.

I LOVE going out to eat with my family, but it's a rare treat because it's always so expensive. With this deal, I bet we could eat a nice meal at Chili's for less than what it would cost us to get meals at a fast food place. (Just order water).

Now I just need to convince my wonderful hubby that we should go out to eat on Sunday. We'll be spending all day up at our church...first for church/Kids Church activities, and then to set up for the Harvest Festival, and to work a shift at that...Don't you think after a day like that we deserve a nice meal that I don't have to cook or clean up? :)

Albertsons--Update on Jose Ole Taquitos

Someone commented on one of my earlier posts about the Taquitos, and I'm not sure if you guys read the comments, so I thought I'd go ahead and write a post letting you know what someone found.

There is now a sign in the freezer section saying that the Taquito price was wrong. I guess it's the individual Jose Ole products that are supposed to be on sale for $1.00.

Sorry for the confusion over this deal...I was going directly from what the ad said and hope none of you made a special trip to Albertsons just for the FREE Taquitos!

There are still GREAT deals to be had at Albertsons this week, so I hope you are able to score some neat buys.

Keep in mind that this is based on stores in San Angelo. If you live in another city, you might find that this deal will still work for you. I know certain stores will honor their ads even if there was a misprint.

Coupon Found in Bag of Goldfish

I used my very last coupon for $0.35 off Goldfish from the Save Big Dream Big coupon book today...which means no more FREE Goldfish. :(

On a happier note, I bought 1 bag of the original Cheddar Goldfish with my last coupon. When I got home I opened the bag to pour it into a Tupperware container, and I found a nice surprise in the bag. There was a coupon for $0.55 off Goldfish...not as good as the $0.35 coupon, but I'll take it. $0.45 for a bag of Goldfish is a lot better than what I'd pay for a bag when it's not on sale.

I can't guarantee that there will be coupons in all the bags of Goldfish, but I found one in mine...remember it was the original Cheddar ones. I'll definitely be heading back to Albertsons sometime this week to use it!

I don't know about your kids, but my boys INHALE Goldfish. My mother-in-law keeps a huge container of Goldfish at her house, and my boys go straight to it whenever we are there. I sure wish they'd release more coupons for them!

The Stouffer's Coupon and Nesquik Coupon can be used in combination with a couple of Combo Locos at HEB this week. The Evaporated milk coupon can be used at Albertsons to get each can for $0.50, and I believe that I saw the TollHouse Morsels on sale for $2.00 at Albertsons. Does anyone else know of any good deals on them?

Albertsons--Update on Jose Ole Taquitos

In the ad this week it has Jose Ole Taquitos (20-22.5 oz.) on sale 10 for $10.00, or $1.00 a box. I had to run by the library this morning, so I decided to make a quick run into Albertsons to pick some up. When I got there, I noticed that the individual Jose Ole Burritos were priced at $1.00 and the Jose Ole Taquitos that are supposed to be on sale for $1.00 are still marked at $5.69 (or $5.89...I can't quite remember). I double checked the ad and went ahead and put several boxes of them into my cart.

When I went to check out, the boxes rang up at $5.69 ($5.89?). I showed the cashier the ad, and she happily adjusted the price for each box down to $1.00.

Now, I'm not sure if this is a misprint in the ad, or if there was a mistake in changing the price of these items. I do know that the cashier said I bought what was pictured in the ad, and that she would change the price for me.

I just wanted to give you guys a heads up on this, so you don't get charged more than what you are expecting. The $1.00 coupon will NOT work on the individual sized Jose Ole products, but when in doubt ask the cashier. Of course do it in a polite way. When I saw that it was ringing up for over $5.00 I simply said that the ad showed they were supposed to be on sale for $1.00. I then showed her the ad and it was taken care of in less than a minute.

Before I began coupon shopping, I would not have thought a thing about spending $2.50 on a single tube of toothpaste...well, I would have thought it was ridiculous how much things cost, but of course I would still buy it because everyone needs toothpaste, right? It's really amazing how knowing how to effectively use coupons can drastically shrink your grocery budget. I was able to buy everything today for less than what I used to spend on a single tube of toothpaste!
