Swagbucks Code--Earn Six More Swagbucks

There are a couple of Swagbucks codes available right now that will allow you to earn a total of 6 Swagbucks.

Go to the Swagbucks blog and read through the entry.

You will be able to choose 2 different codes. Copy the code that you want, and place it in the "Gimme Box" on the right side of the Swagbucks home page.

When you are copying/pasting the codes, you need to be very careful and make sure there are no spaces before or after the code. If you accidentally have spaces then it will tell you the code is invalid, so you'll need to try again.

Sunday Coupon Preview

Just wanted to let you know that there are supposed to be TWO inserts in the newspaper on Sunday (May 8)...one SmartSource and one RedPlum. Please keep in mind that coupon inserts and their values will vary depending on what region of the country you live in and what newspaper you buy. I have found that newspapers from larger cities tend to have better coupons in them.

I have talked to numerous people who have said that they are finding that a lot of the Sunday newspapers have the coupon inserts removed from them. It seems like people are taking the inserts and leaving the newspapers. If you purchase your newspaper from a store/gas station/etc. then always remember to flip through the newspaper to see if it has the inserts in it before purchasing it. It's terrible to spend money on your newspapers and then get them home to find that they don't have coupons in them.

Weekly Meal Plan--Shop at Home First

I have mentioned several times before that if you really want to see your grocery budget shrink, you need to shop from your pantry and freezer before planning your meals for the week. After you have taken stock of what you already have on hand, then you can look for the best deals in the weekly ads and make your weekly meal plan based on what you have on hand and the best deals for the week. Doing this will free up the majority of your grocery budget to continue stockpiling items for your family that you can get at rock bottom prices.

I haven't written out our meal plan for a while, so I thought I'd share what is on our weekly meal plan for the week to give you an idea of what our meals look like. This will give you an idea of how you can shop from your own pantry BEFORE making your grocery list.

Thursday: Tacos (Beef and Chicken), Spanish Rice
Friday: Digiorno Pizza and Wyngz, Salad, Fruit
Saturday: Eat with In-Laws (We usually eat with them every Saturday night, but if that is canceled then we'll have an easy supper...salads/sandwiches)
Sunday: Roast, Carrots, Potatoes, Salad
Monday: Popcorn Shrimp, Macaroni and Cheese, Fresh Fruit/Salad
Tuesday: Meatball Subs, Fresh Fruit/Salad
Wednesday: Leftovers/Sandwiches

We have a lot of busy nights this week, so I am focusing on easy to cook meals. Before making our meal plan, I shopped from our pantry/freezer. I only include suppers on our meal plan since lunches usually are sandwiches/leftovers. After shopping from our pantry the only items I NEED to buy for this week are:

-Sub Rolls
-Sandwich Meat
-Milk
-Bread
-Bananas
-Eggs

I will try to get those items at the lowest cost I can, and I will use the remainder of our weekly grocery budget to stock up on items that are at rock bottom prices. This will allow me to continue to stock our pantry/freezer without affecting our grocery budget.

Starbucks--Half Price Frappucinos

From May 6th to May 15th, Starbucks will be having a Happy Hour from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. You'll be able to purchase Frappucinos at half price.

I am not a coffee drinker, or a Starbucks regular. (Would you believe that I've never had a drink from Starbucks?) I do know that Starbucks drinks tend to be a little pricey, so if you enjoy your Starbucks, then you might want to take advantage of this deal next week.

HEB--Air Heads Xtremes $0.10

While I was at HEB today I noticed a large bin full of candy that was priced at $0.10 each. This was located in one of the bins that are beside the check out lanes.

I picked up several packages of Air Heads Xtremes for my boys. After their soccer games are over, they always want to go to the snack bar and buy a package of these. They are $1.00 each at the snack bar. I'll choose paying $0.10 over $1.00 any day! :)

I know that there were other types of candy in the bin as well, but I'm not sure exactly what they were. I think they had SweetTart Chewy candy, but again I'm not sure.

Each of these packages of candy normally sell for between $0.75 and $1.00, so $0.10 is a great deal...and you don't have to use a single coupon to get the deal. :)

I was out shopping with my youngest today, so I picked one up to tide him over until we made it back home.

The coupon goes through without a beep, and it takes the full face value of the coupon off, so you'll be able to get $0.15 overage to help with the other groceries in your cart.

I ran by Target to do the Aveeno Sunscreen deal again today. The register no longer prompts the cashier to give you a $10.00 gift card, but instead it prompts you to get a $5.00 gift card. Still a good deal.

You need to be careful about what sunscreen you pick up, the sunscreen with the bonus travel size sunscreen are NOT prompting the gift card. The only sunscreen that was working were the bottles on the lotion/sunscreen aisle...not the ones by the checkout or the ones in the baby care aisle.)
