Sunday Coupon Preview

There are supposed to be FOUR inserts in this Sunday's newspaper...2 SmartSource inserts, 1 RedPlum insert, and 1 Proctor and Gamble insert.

Please keep in mind that the inserts and the actual value of coupons will vary depending on what area of the country you live in, and even your city. If you live in a small city, I would encourage you to buy a newspaper from a larger city...they tend to have more coupons and higher value coupons as well.

Over the last few days several people have mentioned that they are noticing that a lot of newspapers are having the coupon inserts removed from them. Have you been noticing this as well? I really encourage you to flip through the newspapers BEFORE purchasing them. It is so frustrating to spend your money and then get your paper home to realize that the coupons are missing.

Coupon for Goldfish Crackers

Go here to print a coupon for $0.55 off one 8.1 oz. to 14.4 oz. Multi-pack of Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Crackers. Goldfish coupons are usually few and far between, so if this is something your family uses then I'd go ahead and print this coupon now.

My boys LOVE Goldfish crackers. My mother-in-law keeps a container full of them in her pantry, and my boys eat their weight in them whenever we go to her house.

Swagbucks--FREE Birthday Presents!!

Have I mentioned before that I just LOVE Swagbucks? I know that I post about it every few weeks, but I have to take a minute to once again try to convince you that you are seriously missing out on FREE money if you haven't signed up yet...do I sound convincing enough. :)

Our oldest son, Josh, is turning 10 on Sunday. We have a pretty tight budget when it comes to birthdays. We don't have big birthday parties, but instead we let the birthday boy choose any restaurant that he wants to eat at, and then open presents and have cake and ice cream at home afterward. The party usually consists of our family and grandparents. (I'm sure this will begin to change as the kids get older and want to do stuff with their friends instead of just their parents. :) What does all of this have to do with Swagbucks? Well, birthday boy requested books and a DS game for his birthday this year, and I was able to purchase it all from Amazon for

$0.00!! I used Amazon gift cards that I got for FREE from Swagbucks. This will seriously help, because birthday boy wants to go out for steaks for his birthday dinner...and this boy can put away meat like no one's business. :)

Swagbucks is a search engine that awards you points when you use their search engine while you are on the internet. It is very similar to Google, Ask.com, etc., only you have the chance to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for prizes...my favorite prize is the Amazon gift card. I use Swagbucks throughout the year, and then use them to help offset the cost of buying birthday and Christmas presents.

It is so simple to use, I put the Swagbucks toolbar on my computer...it is small and I hardly even notice it. Whenever I am on the computer I do all of my searches through Swagbucks. So for example I want to check my email...instead of typing in www.gmail.com, I'll simply type gmail into the Swagbucks search engine and it takes me there...with an extra chance to earn Swagbucks. Simple as can be!! I typically earn around 15 to 25 points every day just by going to places on the Internet that I would normally go to.

If you are interested in signing up, you can go here to get started. It is ABSOLUTELY FREE, and you get a bonus 30 Swagbucks for joining. An added bonus...if you sign up and use the code HelpJapan at sign up, you'll be awarded an additional 50 bucks...so 80 Swagbucks for joining!! (The HelpJapan code is only good until May 2nd.) It takes 450 Swagbucks to earn a $5.00 Amazon gift card, so you'll be well on your way simply by signing up. If you start using Swagbucks now, you could have around $50.00 in FREE money to help with Christmas shopping this year!

HEB Proctor and Gamble/Pampers Catalina

I received an email about an upcoming catalina deal at HEB that I wanted to pass along to you.

This catalina deal begins May 4th and will be available until May 10th.

How It Works:
Spend $10 on select Proctor & Gamble products AND $20 on Pampers products in one transaction, and receive a $5 Catalina coupon for Pampers Diapers to use on your next visit.

List of Participating P&G brands:

Dawn®, Downy®, Dreft®, Duracell®, Pampers®, Pantene®, Pringles®, Olay, or Tide®

If you have kids in diapers, then this might be a good time to stock up on Pampers.

In the May 1st newspaper there will be a new Proctor and Gamble insert that should be full of coupons, so if you are interested in this deal then be sure to pick up a couple of newspapers this Sunday. There should be coupons for Dawn, Downy, Pampers, Tide, and Pantene in the upcoming P&G insert...all products that are included in this catalina deal.

I am not sure what deals will be available at HEB on May 4th, but hopefully they'll have some deals where when you buy certain Proctor and Gamble products you'll receive items for free.

Every time I have done a Catalina deal at HEB I have found that you need to get your PRE-COUPON total to the amount needed for the Catalina to print. If you have $10.00 of Proctor and Gamble products and $20.00 of Pampers products and after coupons your total goes below that amount, the catalina should still print.

HEB--Rhodes White Rolls $0.30

You can get a great deal on Rhodes Traditional White Rolls at HEB this week.

The 12 count bag of rolls is priced at $1.30, and there was a coupon for $1.00 off Rhodes Traditional Bread or Rolls in the 4/10 RedPlum insert. After coupon you'll pay just $0.30 for a bag of rolls.

In the 4/10 RedPlum there were also coupons for $1.00 off Rhodes Warm-N-Serve Rolls and Cinnamon Rolls. I didn't price those while I was at HEB, but you might find a good deal on those as well.

HEB--Texas Toast $0.78

You can get New York Texas Toast at HEB this week for only $0.78 a box.

It is priced at $1.78, and there is a yellow HEB coupon for $1.00 off. After coupon you'll only pay $0.78. These coupons were attached to the freezer right by this product. If you don't see the coupons there, you might check the front wall with all the store coupons.

The cheapest I usually find this for is $1.00, so this is definitely a deal you'll want to take advantage of if your family will eat this.

I believe the coupon expires on May 3rd, so you'll have until Tuesday to do this deal.

Stocking the Freezer

We have had a small chest freezer for a few years, and over the past few months it has given me headaches. It seems like every time I would go to get something out of the freezer, it would end up being at the bottom, so I'd have to unload the whole thing to get the item I wanted. We've been talking about getting a new freezer for several months, and ended up getting one this past week. We got an upright freezer that will make things so much easier!! The new freezer got delivered yesterday, so I spent last night cleaning out the old one and getting everything nice and organized. With extra room in both freezers, I decided to go out and take advantage of some of the deals on frozen foods that are available right now.

I bought everything pictured below and spent...

$58.97, and saved right at $150.00. Yes, I know it is more than our usual weekly budget, but I had extra left over from the month of April, and it has been a while since I've been able to stock up on frozen food items since our old freezer didn't have the room for it.

Items Purchased:

Albertsons:
14 Hefty Storage Bags
2 Lance Crackers
2 loaves of Albertsons Bread
2 Green Bell Peppers
Red Seedless Grapes
Pink Lady Apples

Target:
2 Nature Valley Granola Bars
2 Corn Dogs (16 ct.)
2 Fish Sticks (30 ct.)

HEB:
Russet Potatoes
Bananas
Onions
Cutie Oranges
Similac
Yoplait 4 pack
2 Uncle Ben's Ready Rice
5 Rhodes Rolls
5 Texas Toast
6 Digiorno Pizza and Wyngz
3 Digiorno Pizza and Cookies
2 Digiorno Cheese Pizzas
11 Nestle Drumsticks

I was pretty happy with the deals today. We try to have a family pizza/movie night at least a couple of times a month, so I am happy to be stocked up on enough pizza to hopefully get us through the summer.

HEB--Digiorno Pizza Deal

HEB currently has the following deal:

BUY:
Digiorno 12" Pizza ($5.75)
GET FREE:
Nestle Vanilla Drumstick (4 ct.)

There is a coupon for $1.00 off 2 Digiorno Pizzas that can be found in the tearpad for the FREE lettuce when you buy Kraft Parmesan Cheese that I mentioned earlier. (found in the refrigerated cheese section).

Deal Idea:
Buy 2 Digiorno Pizzas ($11.50)
Buy 2 Nestle Drumstick
-use HEB yellow coupon for FREE Drumsticks wyb Digiorno
-use $1.00 off 2 Digiorno Pizzas (tearpad coupon)
Final Price: $10.50 for 2 pizzas and 2 boxes of Drumsticks

This isn't the greatest deal, but if you were planning a pizza/movie night at home this sure beats ordering pizza...$10.00 for pizza AND dessert.

HEB--Reach Toothbrush and Floss

I usually buy my toiletries at Walgreens and CVS. I've found that once you get the hang of Register Rewards and Extra Care Bucks that you will get a lot of items for FREE. I know that a lot of people are intimidated by drugstores, or just don't have the time to roll their RRs and ECBs from week to week. For those of you who don't want to mess with drugstores, or who are just starting out trying to build up a stockpile I found a deal at HEB that you might want to take advantage of.

In the 4/17 SmartSource insert was a coupon for Buy 2 Listerine Total Care Mouthwash and/or Reach Toothbrush, and/or Reach Floss and save $2.50

BUY:
Reach Floss: $0.97
Reach Toothbrush (2 pack) $1.99
-use coupon for $2.50 off 2
Final Price: $0.46 for floss and two toothbrushes (right around $0.15 each!!)

If you are just starting out, or if your stockpile of toothbrushes is dwindling, you might want to consider doing this deal.

Toothbrushes and floss are GREAT items to stock up on and donate. I like to stock up on these and use them when we fill our shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.

HEB--Meatballs, Parmesan Cheese, and Lettuce Deal

HEB currently has this deal:

BUY:
Kraft Parmesan Cheese ($2.98)
GET FREE:
HEB Frozen Meatballs ($3.48)

Next to the Parmesan Cheese there are yellow store coupons that will get you the meatballs free, but there are additional coupons that will make the deal even sweeter! There are two tear pad coupons that you need to look for. (I found these taped right next to the Parmesan Cheese containers in the refrigerated cheese section...on the far right side). One coupon is for FREE lettuce when you buy Parmesan Cheese, and the other is for $1.00 off Kraft Parmesan Cheese. (I went right around 2:45 and there were a lot of these coupons left. If you are going to do this deal, please be considerate and only take the number of coupons that your family will need.)

Deal idea:

BUY:
Head of Lettuce ($1.48)
Kraft Parmesan ($2.98)
Meatballs ($3.48)
USE:
-HEB yellow coupon for FREE meatballs (-$3.48)
-Coupon for FREE lettuce (-$2.98) (For some reason this automatically deducted the FULL amount for the cheese. The cashier did not manually enter this...it is coded into the bar code)
Final Price: $1.48 for all three items...You'll just be paying for the lettuce.

I tried to use the coupon for $1.00 off Parmesan Cheese, but the register would not accept it. It was only after looking at my receipt that I noticed that the coupon for FREE lettuce took off the full amount of the Parmesan Cheese. This coupon seems to be coded to give you the Parmesan Cheese FREE when you buy lettuce...maybe? That is only my guess. I am guessing that when I tried to use the coupon for $1.00 off cheese, the register would not accept it since the lettuce coupon attached to the cheese...like trying to use 2 coupons on one product...again, this is only my guess. The cashier scanned the coupon for the FREE lettuce BEFORE she tried to scan the coupon for the $1.00 off cheese. I am not sure what would have happened if she had scanned them in the other order.

I had lettuce on my grocery list for the week, so I'm all about getting the meatballs and cheese for free! :)

FREE Country Bob's Sauce

I have posted about this deal before, but I wanted to re-post it in case you missed it the first time.

Go here to request a FREE bottle of Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce. Once you fill in your mailing information, they will mail you a coupon for a FREE bottle. The coupon is good for a full size bottle...not a small sample size.

JCPenney Coupon ($10.00 off any $25.00 Purchase)

If you didn't get the JCPenney coupon for $10.00 off a $10.00 purchase that I mentioned earlier, you might want to print this coupon out. It is a coupon for $10.00 off any $25.00 purchase. This coupon can be used on all family apparel, shoes, accessories, jewelry, and home goods.

If you shop the sale/clearance racks you should be able to find some GREAT deals!!

This coupon expires Saturday, April 30th.

Junk Mail

I know a lot of people who will quickly sort through their mail when they get it. They throw everything that looks remotely like junk mail quickly into the trash. I suggest opening up your junk mail and taking a quick peek to make sure you won't be throwing out valuable coupons.

I've found a lot of coupons in items that I would normally just throw away. Yesterday while I was sorting through the mail I opened up an advertisement from JCPenney. Inside was a coupon for $10.00 off any $10.00 purchase...can you say FREE? I get this coupon several times a year. This coupon can be used on sale and clearance items...getting you items for just pennies/free.

Just wanted to give you a heads up to look through your mail...it only takes a minute longer than automatically throwing it in the trash, and you might be surprised at some of the money saving offers you'll receive.

Deal at Hobby Lobby

We went to Hobby Lobby last night to look for some supplies for Kids Church. While we were there, I noticed a deal that I thought you guys might be interested in.

Plain colored T-shirts were marked 50% off. It seems like these were for youth and adult sizes. They were regularly priced between $2.99 and $4.99, so as low as $1.50 for a t-shirt.

At this price, I think it might be a good idea to pick up a couple. These would be great for playing around the house. I also know that a lot of schools/camps will have days where they want the kids to wear a specific colored T-shirt. It always seems like we NEVER have the right color shirt for those days. :)

I'm assuming that this deal will be good for the whole week, but I'm not certain.

Ronzoni Pasta Coupons

There are several coupons available for Ronzoni Pasta. Go here if you are interested in printing any of them.

$1.00 off 2 boxes of Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Pasta

$1.00 off 2 boxes of Ronzoni Quick Cook Pasta
Sorry for the lack of posts this morning, but I had to take this cutie pie to the doctor for a check up.

After the examination, shots, and a few tears we are finally home...whew, I think taking the kids to the doctor wears me out more than them. Is anyone else that way?

I'm hoping to get a few deals/coupons posted later this afternoon. I probably won't get the HEB/Albertsons match ups done until later tonight or early tomorrow. I checked my mail and didn't get the new ads in the mail today, so I'll need to stop by the stores to pick them up. (You can view them online, but it is a lot easier for me to do the match ups with the actual copies in front of me).

Hope all of you are having a wonderful morning!!

Coupon for Johnson's Shampoo

Go here to print a coupon for $1.00 off Johnson's Shampoo.

I haven't bought this in a couple of years, so I'm not sure what this is regularly priced at. I'm sure $1.00 off will definitely help though. :)

Thanks Krazy Coupon Lady!

Coupon for Log Cabin Syrup

My boys will be excited about this coupon. We have several boxes of waffles in our freezer, but we ran out of syrup a couple of weeks ago. I've been waiting for a good deal on syrup. Hopefully we'll find a good sale on it soon!

Coupon To Look Out For

I have had a lot of people tell me they have a really hard time finding coupons for fresh produce and meats, so I wanted to let you know about this coupon that I found while I was at HEB.

I found this coupon for $1.50 off any Ground Beef when you buy one Velveeta (2 lbs. or larger). This coupon was on a tearpad right by the ground beef.

If you use Velveeta cheese, then this would be a great coupon to pick up while you are at HEB. The coupon does not expire until May 31st, so hopefully we'll see a good sale on Velveeta before then.

HEB--Organic Frozen Veggies $0.45 a bag

I know I posted about this earlier, but I wanted to remind you guys about this.

Right now HEB has Central Market Organic Frozen Veggies priced at $1.45. Right beside them on the freezer are yellow HEB coupons for $1.00 off...making each bag just $0.45!! This is definitely a time to stock up on these!!

The coupon expires tomorrow, so if you are interested you only have a until tomorrow to take advantage of this deal.

Good Life Cat Food--$0.77 a bag

While I was at Wal-Mart today I found a great deal on cat food.

Good Life Cat Food (1 lb. bag) $2.27
-use coupon for $1.50 off any Good Life Cat Food (found in 4/17 RedPlum insert)
Final Price: $0.77

I know that when most people buy cat/dog food they purchase a large 10 to 15 lb. bag. If you have several of these coupons, you can stock up on this at only $0.77/lb.

Nivea Body Wash--Better Than FREE

If any of you still have the coupons for $3.00 off Nivea Women's Body Wash, found in the 4/17 RedPlum insert, you should be able get some OVERAGE at Wal-Mart.

I went in there today, and saw a display of the body wash on rollback to $2.75 or $2.78...can't quite remember, but it was definitely UNDER $3.00.

I know a lot of people stocked up last week when it was FREE, but if you held onto your coupons, then you can get an even better deal!!

(I didn't receive any of these coupons, so I'm kind of bummed that I'm missing out on this deal. :( Oh well, one thing you learn when coupon shopping is that if you miss out on one deal, another deal is just around the corner).

Red Gold Tomatoes--$0.25

I went to HEB today and found a deal that I thought some of you might be interested in.

Red Gold Diced Tomatoes were on sale for $0.50 (normally priced at $0.75)
-use coupon for $1.00 off 4 Red Gold Tomatoes (found here)(I found it by using zip code 78004 and clicking on the Food category)
Final Price: $1.00 for all 4 cans ($0.25 each)

They had a lot of different varieties on sale for $0.50...plain diced tomatoes, petite diced tomatoes, Mexican Fiesta diced tomatoes, Garlic and Oregano diced tomatoes.

If you are running low on diced tomatoes, or you are just starting out building your stockpile then this would be a great time to stock up.

There was no signage at the store that said how long these would be on sale, so if you are interested I'd go in before Wednesday when the new ad comes out.
