Walgreens Mock Shopping Trip

I did a mock shopping trip for CVS and Walgreens several weeks ago, and I decided that I would do another one this week because I have had several people email me about questions they have about Walgreens. Walgreens and CVS can seem confusing when you first start shopping there, but once you get the hang of them you will be able to buy SO many toiletries for pennies!! I will try to sit down a little later in the week and do a more detailed post about how Walgreens and CVS actually work, but for now I'll do a mock shopping trip for you. If you follow the steps that I give you, you should have no problem getting these same deals at your Walgreens!!
I will start out the mock shopping trip with NO register rewards and will have you spending less than $5.00!!

Transaction #1:
Nivea for Men Body Wash $5.99
-use coupon for $3.00 off Nivea Men Body Wash (found in 5/2 RedPlum insert)
Final Price: Pay $2.99 (The Nivea for Men Body Wash will trigger a $6.00 Register Reward this week...this is a coupon that will print off from the register that can be used on other purchases you make at Walgreens.)

Transaction #2:
Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor $9.89
-use coupon for $4.00 off any Gillette Fusion Razor (found in 6/6 Proctor and Gamble insert)
Nestle Candy $0.39
Use $6.00 Register Reward that you earned from Transaction #1
Final Price: Pay $0.28 (The Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor will trigger a $5.00 Register Reward this week)

After both transactions you will have spent $3.27 (plus tax) on over $16.00 of products, and you'll still have a $5.00 Register Reward to use. You can use this $5.00 Register Reward for other deals that will generate more Register Rewards, or you can use it to buy some grocery staples that are hard to find good deals on...milk, eggs, peanut butter, etc. Our local Walgreens will allow you to use Register Rewards on Dairy products, but I know that other Walgreens will not allow it, so check at your local Walgreens to see their policy!

Once you have you first Register Reward, the possibilities are endless...keep rolling the register rewards and paying pennies for your purchases!!
