Target Trip (April 12)

I made a quick trip to Target this morning to take advantage of some of the GREAT gift card promotions that they are running this week. I bought everything pictured below, and spent...

$10.79...AND I left the store with $10.00 in Target gift cards...if you factor in the gift cards, it's like I spent $0.79 on everything!! I broke my trip up into two different transactions to help lower my out of pocket expenses. Here's how I did it:

TRANSACTION #1:

8 Boxes of Benadryl Anti-Itch Cream Price Cut to $2.29 Each
($2.29 x 8 = $18.32)
-used 4 coupons for $5.00 off any 2 Benadryl, Zyrtec, Visine, Sudafed PE, or Tylenol Sinus (found in yesterday's newspaper) (4 x $5.00 = $20.00)
Final Cost: FREE (plus $1.68 in overage)

2 Scrubbing Bubbles Power Sprayer Starters Price Cut to $7.99 Each
($7.99 x 2 = $15.98)
-used 2 coupons for $5.00 off any Scrubbing Bubbles Power Sprayer Starter (found in yesterday's newspaper) (2 x $5.00 = $10.00)
Final Cost: $5.98 (or $2.99 each)

2 Scrubbing Bubbles Refills Price Cut to $3.94
($3.94 x 2 = $7.88)
-used 2 coupons for Buy Scrubbing Bubbles Power Sprayer Starter, get Refill for free, found here
Final Cost: FREE

2 Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaners Price Cut to $2.49
($2.49 x 2 = $4.98)
-used 2 coupons for $0.75 off any Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner (found in previous week's newspaper) (2 x $0.75 = $1.50)
Final Cost: $3.48 (or $1.74 each)

PLUS I gave the cashier 2 coupons for FREE $5 Target gift card with the purchase of 3Scrubbing Bubbles products (excludes Toilet Gel and Automatic Shower Cleaner). This coupon was found in yesterday's newspaper

Final price for Transaction #1:
$7.78 PLUS I received 2 $5.00 gift cards!!

Transaction #2:

5 boxes of Special K Granola Cereal Price Cut to $2.39
(5 x $2.39 = $11.95)
-used 2 coupons for $2.00 off 2 boxes of Special K Granola Cereal, and used 1 coupon for $1.00 off 1 box of Special K Granola Cereal (found in newspaper)
Final Cost: $6.95 (or $1.39 per box)
This also generated a $5.00 gift card.

2 Gillette Fusion Razors Price Cut to $6.99
(2 x $6.99 = $13.98)
-used 2 coupons for $4.00 off any Gillette razor (found in last week's newspaper)
(2 x $4.00 = $8.00)
Final Cost: $5.98 (or $2.99 each)
This also generated a $5.00 gift card.

Final Price for Transaction #2:
$12.93 plus $0.08 in tax = $13.01
BUT I used the 2 $5.00 gift cards I earned in Transaction #1, so I only owed $3.01!! AND I got an additional $10.00 in Target Gift Cards for my next trip there!!

Overall I spent $10.79 and left with $10.00 in gift cards. The bottom of my receipts says that I saved $121.18...that seems a bit high to me, but I guess that is factoring in prices before all price cuts, gift card promotions and coupons. That's a savings of almost 92%!!
