Stocking the Freezer

We have had a small chest freezer for a few years, and over the past few months it has given me headaches. It seems like every time I would go to get something out of the freezer, it would end up being at the bottom, so I'd have to unload the whole thing to get the item I wanted. We've been talking about getting a new freezer for several months, and ended up getting one this past week. We got an upright freezer that will make things so much easier!! The new freezer got delivered yesterday, so I spent last night cleaning out the old one and getting everything nice and organized. With extra room in both freezers, I decided to go out and take advantage of some of the deals on frozen foods that are available right now.

I bought everything pictured below and spent...

$58.97, and saved right at $150.00. Yes, I know it is more than our usual weekly budget, but I had extra left over from the month of April, and it has been a while since I've been able to stock up on frozen food items since our old freezer didn't have the room for it.

Items Purchased:

Albertsons:
14 Hefty Storage Bags
2 Lance Crackers
2 loaves of Albertsons Bread
2 Green Bell Peppers
Red Seedless Grapes
Pink Lady Apples

Target:
2 Nature Valley Granola Bars
2 Corn Dogs (16 ct.)
2 Fish Sticks (30 ct.)

HEB:
Russet Potatoes
Bananas
Onions
Cutie Oranges
Similac
Yoplait 4 pack
2 Uncle Ben's Ready Rice
5 Rhodes Rolls
5 Texas Toast
6 Digiorno Pizza and Wyngz
3 Digiorno Pizza and Cookies
2 Digiorno Cheese Pizzas
11 Nestle Drumsticks

I was pretty happy with the deals today. We try to have a family pizza/movie night at least a couple of times a month, so I am happy to be stocked up on enough pizza to hopefully get us through the summer.

  2. You commented before I was done with the post. :) I guess I accidentally posted it before I was finished writing it all out. I have found that you can get really high value coupons from companies when you email them and let them know what you think of their products...sometimes even coupons for free products. I also received some Digiorno coupons for hosting a House Party to review their new pizza combinations.
