Target--School Supplies

I ran to Target this morning to see if I could find any deals. It seems like Halloween costumes, decorations, and candy have taken over the area where the school supplies used to be. If you didn't have a chance to pick up school supplies that were on clearance, you still have a little time to get some GREAT deals. I walked through Target and found that they had moved the clearanced school supplies over to endcaps where the cards/party supplies and office supplies are. There isn't a huge selection left, but they still had a large supply of loose leaf paper, notebooks, binders, scissors, rulers, and more. If you are interested in getting some deals on school supplies then I'd definitely head over to Target in the next couple of days because there is no telling how long they will last!

Walgreens--Trident Gum--Money Maker!!

We go through gum like crazy at our house, so I am all about finding it cheap...free is better, but making money buying it is the best!!

This week at Walgreens there is an in ad coupon to make Trident gum $0.79 a pack (regularly $1.29 a pack), but with the right coupons you can get an even better deal!!

At Walgreens the order you hand your coupons to the cashier is EXTREMELY important, so if you are interested in this deal, you'll need to hand your coupons to the cashier in the order I list below.

Buy 4 packages of Trident Gum: $1.29 each
-use 2 manufacturer's coupons for $1.00 off two (found here) (HAND THESE TO THE CASHIER FIRST!!)
-use Walgreens coupon for $1.00 off two packs of Trident gum (found in the Walgreens September coupon book)(This is found at the front of the store next to the weekly ads. You'll only need to hand the cashier ONE of these coupons, and it will deduct $2.00 for your four packs of gum.)
-use Walgreens coupon to make each pack of gum $0.79 (found in weekly ad) (You'll only need to hand the cashier ONE of these coupons, and it will automatically adjust the price of each pack of gum) (HAND THIS TO THE CASHIER LAST!!)
Final Price: FREE (plus $0.84 overage)

You'll need to make sure that you have an extra item to cover the overage that you receive. I would suggest picking up one of the Crest toothpastes that generate a $1.00 Register Reward this week.

FREE "Icky Bands"

If you have kids then I'm sure that you have heard about silly bands...who knew that little rubber bands could be so expensive? If your kids like silly bands, then you'll want to head over here to request a FREE pack of "Icky Bands." These bands are supposed to help kids understand the importance of washing their hands. Each pack comes with 8 "Icky Bands" and you can request up to 4 packs. (While supplies last.) I signed up to receive these, and I think I'll put them back for stocking stuffers at Christmas!

CVS Shopping Trip (September 19)

I ran to CVS this afternoon so I could take advantage of some of the new deals for this week. I bought everything pictured below and spent...



$1.44, and I left the store with $6.80 Extra Care Bucks...like being paid to shop!!

I started out this week with $6.00 Extra Care Bucks (from the Olay deal last week), and I did 3 different transactions. Here's how I did it, and you can too if you have the right coupons:

Transaction #1:

3 Right Guard Total Defense Deodorants ($2.99 each)
-used coupon for $1.50 off one Right Guard (found here)
-used coupon for $3.00 off two Right Guards (found here)

2 Xtra Laundry Detergents ($2.00 each)
-used CVS coupon for $2.00 off two (received at price scan machine)

Total: $6.47 (plus tax)...paid with $6.00 Extra Care Buck
Total Due: $0.60 and I received $6.00 Extra Care Buck ($2.00 for each Right Guard Deodorant I bought)

Transaction #2:

1 Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick $6.99
-used coupon for $2.00 off Revlon Lipstick (found here)

1 Schick Shaving Cream $2.79
-used coupon for $1.00 off Schick Shaving Cream (found in 8/8 SmartSource insert)

Total: $6.78 (plus tax)...paid with $6.00 Extra Care Buck from Transaction #1
Total Due: $0.84 and I received a $5.00 Extra Care Buck (from Revlon lipstick) and a $1.80 Extra Care Buck (from Schick Shaving Cream)

Total for all 3 transactions was $1.44, and I saved $38.17...PLUS I still have $6.80 Extra Care Bucks to spend on my next trip to CVS!

Once you learn how to shop the drugstores, you should be able to buy all of your toiletries for a fraction of the cost!

New Coupon to Look for at CVS

I ran into CVS today to take advantage of some of the new weekly deals. When I walked into the store I scanned my Extra Care Card under the price scan machine to see what coupons would print out for me. I received several different coupons, but there's one coupon that I wanted to make sure to mention to you.

$2.00 off 2 Xtra Laundry Detergents
-Xtra Laundry Detergent is priced at 2 for $4.00 this week, so only $1.00 for each bottle after coupon.

At CVS you never know what coupons will print out for you from the price scan machine, but this is definitely one to watch for.

If your family does not use this type of Laundry Detergent and you have extra money in your budget this would be a great item to buy and donate!
