Wal-Mart Trip (September 30)

I ran to Wal-Mart today because I wanted to see how easy it was to price match all of the items from the Lowe's ad...I have price matched many times before, but not in the last couple of months. I wanted to make sure that it was as easy as I remembered it being so that I could report back to all of you. I bought everything pictured below and spent...



$9.25. I had absolutely ZERO problems price matching the items. I made sure to go during a time when I knew it wouldn't be too busy. When I got to the checkout, I told the cashier that I would be price matching. I made sure to give her all the items that I would be price matching together (being organized makes everything go so much more smoothly). I told her the price it was at Lowe's and made sure to tell her I had the Lowe's ad if she wanted to verifty the prices. I think that price matching might have added 1 or 2 minutes onto the check out process. It went really smoothly, and the cashier was very friendly about it.

7 Ultra Downy Balls $1.37
-used 7 coupons for $1.50 off any Ultra Downy product (expired today)
Final Price: Free (plus $0.91 overage)

15 cans of Great Value Vegetables $0.64
-price matched Lowe's ad to get each can down to $0.39
Final Price: $5.85

6 cans of Great Value Cream of Mushroom Soup (I forgot to check Wal-Mart's price)
-price matched Lowe's ad to get them down to 3 for $1.00
Final Price: $2.00

2 small bags of Planter's Honey Roasted Peanuts $0.48 (found at checkout)
-used 2 coupons for $1.00 off any Planters product
Final Price: FREE (plus $1.04 overage)

2 bags of Earthbound Farm Organic Carrots $0.88
-used 2 coupons for $0.75 off Earthbound Farm product
Final Price: $0.26

3 Green Bell Peppers $0.64 each
-price matched Lowe's ad to get them down to 3 for $1.00
Final Price: $1.00

Grapes $0.89/lb.
Final Price: $2.09

Not a GREAT trip to Wal-Mart, but my stockpile of canned vegetables has been running low for a couple of weeks. $0.39 isn't the best price, but it sure beats paying full price!! Also, it is usually pretty difficult to find really great deals on produce, so I was really happy with the prices that I was able to find!

If you've never price matched at Wal-Mart, I just want to reassure you that it really is super easy. Also wanted to say that I really don't know anything at all about Lowe's Grocery Store. I have never been inside it...only because it's across town from where I live and usually shop. If you shop at Lowe's leave a comment letting us know of any deals that we are missing out on...I might need to make a trip over there.
