So it sounds like some of you might have had problems using the $5.00 off 5 Kraft cheese coupon at HEB. It doesn't scan properly, so cashiers are saying you can't use it. I had a meeting with Lynn Shipley (the supervisor at the San Angelo HEB) several months ago, and he gave me a copy of an email that he had just recently received concerning Internet coupons. The following is a copy of the email that he printed off for me. I have highlighted the section about Internet coupons.
New Coupon Policy Rolls Out To Stores
At H-E-B, we know it is important for our Customers to stretch every dollar they spend. With that in mind, H-E-B has launched a new coupon policy. The new coupon policy outlines the types of coupons we accept and our coupon guidelines.
A key policy change pertains to internet coupons. Printable internet coupons are extremely popular because they are widely available through a variety of coupon websites and are easily redeemable at applicable locations. In the past, internet coupons were accepted at H-E-B if they scanned correctly at the register. For the convenience of our Customers, the new coupon policy states that H-E-B now accepts all internet coupons even if they do not scan, provided the Customer has met the purchase criteria expressed on the coupon (i.e. the targeted item, brand, and size).
Click here to review the coupon policy and to learn more about our coupon guidelines. The coupon policy can also be found on our heb.com website under Weekly Ads and Coupons. For any questions regarding the new coupon policy, speak to your Central Checkout Operations Manager or your Store Leader.
I keep a copy of this email in my coupon binder and pull it out if I have any troubles while I am checking out at HEB. You might want to print a copy of it as well. It seems like HEB has a problem with their employees not being aware of their coupon policy. As a coupon shopper, I know that it can be frustrating at times...but stick with it...the savings are well worth any frustrations!!
