Let me start out by saying that I have never gone grocery shopping at Lowe's, but I do take their ad into Wal-Mart to price match on a regular basis. A lot of times they have GREAT prices on milk and produce. Some of you might shop regularly at Lowe's, or will make a trip to Lowe's to check out their deals, but for those of you who don't want to make a trip there...don't feel like you have to miss out on their deals...just take the ad into Wal-Mart and you'll be able to price match.
These are the best deals I see at Lowe's this week:
Pilgrim's Pride Grade "A" Whole Fryers $0.59/lb.
Cantaloupe $0.79
Peaches, Nectarines, Red or Black Plums $0.69/lb.
Red, Golden Delicious, or Granny Smith Apples $0.89/lb.
Green Pears $0.99/lb.
Kiwi 6 for $1.00
Navel Oranges 2 lbs. for $3.00
Red Ripe Tomatoes $0.99/lb.
Whole Carrots $0.69/lb.
Fresh Broccoli $0.89/lb.
Sweet Yellow Onions $0.99/lb.
ShurFine is Lowe's Generic Brand of foods...like Great Value is at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart will generally let you price match another store brand product for their Great Value Brand product.
ShurFine Macaroni and Cheese 4 for $1.00
ShurFine Toaster Tarts (8 count) $1.00
ShurFine Canned Vegetables $0.39
There are a lot of deals on ShurFine products. I am not familiar with the regular price of Wal-Mart's Great Value brand, so you might want to take the Lowe's ad into Wal-Mart and check prices for yourself.
If you decide to price match at Wal-Mart, make sure to tell your cashier BEFORE he/she starts scanning your items. Have the ad handy becaue he/she may ask to look at it to verify the prices. Price matching should only ad a couple of minutes onto the length of time it takes you to check out, but will generally save you several dollars depending on what you are purchasing!
