Oscar Mayer Carving Board Meat

I posted about the high value coupon for $2.00 off Oscar Mayer Carving Board Meat yesterday. I ran to Target today to see if our Target carried it...unfortunately not.

I did find it at Wal-Mart and at HEB priced right around $3.49, so only $1.49 after coupon.

I'm not a huge sandwich/lunchmeat eater, but this meat looked really good. I might have to try it.

If you've tried it, let me know how you liked it.

HEB--Meals for Under $5.00

I have had a lot of people tell me that they have a really hard time coming up with meals to make for their families that are inexpensive. I wanted to point out just a couple of deals that I found while going through HEB today. These are deals that should get you supper on the table for right around $5.00.

HEB:
Buy 2 lbs. of Ground Beef Get Ingredients for Tacos FREE

Ground Sirloin is priced at $3.18/lb. at HEB right now. You'll need to buy 2 lbs. to be able to get the items free ($6.36)

If you have a smaller family, or kids who are younger, you will probably be able to get by with only using one lb. of ground beef.

Final Price: $3.18 for Tacos for your family
(You could also pick up a can of Refried Beans (under $1.00), bag of salad (quick sale for $0.99)

HEB:
Buy HEB Fancy Shredded Cheese Get FREE Barilla Whole Grain Pasta and Barilla Pasta Sauce.

HEB Fancy Shredded Cheese is priced around $1.96. You'll get the pasta and sauce for free. You could also use the second pound of ground beef that you bought for the taco meal deal ($3.18).

Final Price: $5.14 for Spaghetti with Meat Sauce. Add a vegetable that you probably have in your pantry/freezer.

If you are just starting out, you can get the ingredients for these meals at HEB using only the yellow, in store coupons. If you have a small family you might have enough leftovers to get one or two more meals out of this. I miss the days of leftovers...if we want any leftovers at our house it seems like I have to double recipes. What can I say, I'm feeding growing boys! :)

There are so many ways to eat on a budget without having to sacrifice too much. To save the most you'll need to shop for what is on sale each week and plan your meals accordingly!

HEB Trip (January 28)

I have to say that I don't do a ton of shopping at HEB. In my opinion it is hard to see a really big savings there. Yes, they have yellow in store coupons and Buy X get Y free, but it seems like when I shop there I still spend more than I want to.

That being said, I was excited about the Meal Deal that they are having this week. (Buy 2 lbs. of ground beef get five ingredients for making tacos FREE). I was down to my last 2 lbs. of ground beef, so I decided to run into HEB.

I bought everything pictured below, and spent...

$54.62 and saved $61.30...Yes, I know I went over my grocery budget. I didn't do a lot of shopping at the beginning of the month, so I had extra left over from those weeks. Also, I really needed to stock up on some quick fix meals to have on hand in our freezer.

I know it is a bit high, but I really wanted to get some meals that I can whip up in just a few minutes before/after church and also for those nights when I don't feel like cooking. I should be able to get at least 15 meals out of the Anytizers/ Ground Sirloin/pizzas...adding a few side dishes/vegetables that I already have in our pantry/freezer...less than $4.00 a meal for a family of 5...or we could spend the same amount of money taking our family out to eat 2 (maybe 3) times. I'll go over our grocery budget a little bit this week to save a lot of money later!

Have you been stocking up on any items lately?

FREE Candle from Bath and Body Works

Bath and Body Works is offering a FREE 1.6 oz candle this weekend ($3.50 value). This offer is good from January 28-30. I LOVE getting the freebies from Bath and Body Works. I love lotions and candles, but it is really hard for me to spend money on them since we can get them for pennies on the dollar at drugstores. I will definitely be running by the mall today to pick up a FREE candle.

Mega Swagbucks Friday!

It has been quite a while since I've posted anything about Swagbucks, but I thought that since it is the beginning of a new year that now would be a PERFECT time to remind you. For those of you who are already signed up remember that on Fridays they award even more Swagbucks, so don't forget to search through their engine today. For those of you who haven't signed up yet, I'd really encourage you to do so!! You'll be able to earn points that you can cash in for prizes. Last year was my first year to do Swagbucks, and throughout the year I earned more than $200.00 in Amazon gift cards. I used the gift cards to help with Christmas shopping. I'm excited about seeing how many I can earn this year. With very little effort, anyone should be able to earn enough points for one $5.00 Amazon gift card per month...doesn't sound like much, but over the year that's $60.00 that could be used for Christmas presents...you could easily knock several gifts off your Christmas list for FREE!!

So for those of you who are already a part of Swagbucks start searching!! Let me know if you win any big amounts today!! And for those of you who have not joined Swagbucks yet, it is completely free and so easy!! Just sign up for Swagbucks (it's a search engine...like google, yahoo, ask.com, etc). You have a chance to win Swagbucks for every search you do. You don't have to go search for specific things. The easiest way to use it, is to load the Swagbucks toolbar on your homepage. Instead of typing in a web address that you want to go to, just type it into the Swagbucks search box...you'll still go right where you would be going anyway...but you will be given chances to win Swagbucks!!

If you are interested in signing up, just go here or click on the banner below to get started. Like I said it is completely FREE and you'll receive 30 Swagbucks just for signing up!!

I know this might sound confusing, so if you have any questions about Swagbucks or how to get started leave a comment below and I'll do my best to answer them!

Note...it's the end of January and I've already earned a $5.00 Amazon gift card...what are you waiting for?

Nature Valley Granola Bars--$1.00 at Albertsons!

-use coupon for $0.50 off 1 Peter Pan Peanut Butter (found in 1/2 SmartSource insert) (will double)
Final Price: $0.59 for Peanut Butter

In my opinion this is a GREAT deal!! If you are wanting to stock up and have multiple coupons, please remember that Albertsons will only double/triple 4 of each like coupon in a transaction. If you have more than 4 coupons, you'll need to split your order up so you'll take full advantage of each coupon.

I didn't receive these coupons, otherwise I'd be stocking up this week. :(
